The State of the State Podcast discusses issues, questions, answers, policy and research on the hottest topics on the local, state and national stage. State of the State podcasters Interim IPPSR Director Arnold Weinfeld and Charles Ballard, Director of IPPSR’s State of the State Survey, will talk together and share the air with frequent guests monthly.

IPPSR thanks Director Matt Grossmann, on sabbatical until July, for kicking off the State of the State Podcast and infusing it with extraordinary energy. The production will be featured on radio stations on the air and over the internet, on SoundCloud at http://soundcloud.com/stateofthestatepodcast, over ITunes, on Facebook, Twitter and on the IPPSR website at ippsr.msu.edu. On the MSU campus, IPPSR specializes in policy education, leadership training and survey research in MSU’s College of Social Science. We are the home of the Michigan Political Leadership Program, the Office for Survey Research, State of the State Survey, Legislative Leadership Program, Rosenthal Legislative Internship Program, more than 60 affiliate faculty members, student policy fellows and major research databases on topics of interest to academic researchers, legislators, policy makers, elected leaders and journalists around the world.

June’s State of the State Podcast talks about politics, as in auto insurance, tariffs, as in those on Mexican and Candian goods, and the popular vote, as in redistricting.

This edition State of the State Podcast brings together IPPSR Interim Director Arnold Weinfeld, economist Charles Ballard and MSU political scientist Corwin Smidt. IPPSR thanks MSU’s University Communications, MSU Director of Public Relations Jennifer Davis, Producer Russ White of MSU Advancement Marketing and Communications, Jon Whiting, professor of practice in the Department of Media and Information, and all those who support the efforts necessary to make this production possible.
